The Operating System : Reliable & Secure
The operating system, typically the "Windows" operating system is the core software running on the computer. Everything, every application runs on top of the operating system.
When you run applications, you want them to be:
- reliable, which means the applications performs well and does not crash,
- secure, which means that your data is safe.
Some application are more reliable and secure than others, but it is important to keep in mind that the
maximum level of reliability and security you can reach is determined by the operating system.
In other words, if there is any bug or any security issue in the operating system, it potentially affects all applications as well.
